The Lady Lever

The Lady Lever Art Gallery & Museum is regarded as one of the finest art galleries in Europe. It’s located in model village, Port Sunlight in Wirral, a place rich in architectural charm.

The gallery was founded by William Hesketh Lever (1851-1925) and is dedicated to his wife Elizabeth, Lady Lever. Lever wanted to share his collections with the public and the works on display at the gallery have been personally selected.

Inside the gallery, visitors will find the best of Lever’s personal art collection and the finest collection of Wedgewood jasperware anywhere in the world. The Pre-Raphaelite painting collection is internationally renowned and features works by Millais, Rossetti, Burne-Jones and Holman Hunt.

THE BRIEF

Ampfab were recently commissioned to design, manufacture and install a bespoke picture racking system to a previously unused basement room to enable the secure storage and display of the Lady Levers precious collection of artworks.

No matter how awkward or confined the available space is, such as at the Lady lever, we will always optimise the space to realise its full storage potential.

THE SOLUTION

The Lady Lever was a particular pleasure to provide an installation for as it is in such a uniquely attractive location and the gallery itself is a treasure trove of fascinating sculptures, pictures and objects.
